1. Our privacy promise
ThePlantic connects plant lovers with local nurseries, products, services, offers, and store owners. To make that experience work, we collect some information from customers, nursery owners, and store staff.
We use that information to run the marketplace, show relevant nurseries, process orders, send inquiries, support accounts, improve safety, and make the platform easier to use. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
Account information may include your name, email address, mobile number, login details, profile details, and communication preferences.
Customer activity may include selected nursery, delivery address, saved location, orders, cart items, recently viewed products, inquiries, service requests, followed stores, ratings, reviews, and support messages.
Nursery owner information may include store name, address, phone number, business description, images, inventory, pricing, offers, services, customer leads, business hours, payment preferences, subscription status, and compliance details where required.
Technical information may include device type, browser, IP address, cookies, session data, pages visited, search terms, referral links, and basic diagnostic logs.
3. Location and delivery area data
ThePlantic uses location or address information to show nurseries that may deliver products or provide garden services in your area.
You may provide a location manually or through browser/device location tools. You can control browser location permission from your device settings.
Location information helps with nursery discovery, delivery coverage, service availability, checkout accuracy, and a better local marketplace experience.
4. How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, show store pages, personalize category and product results, validate cart and checkout, process orders, handle customer inquiries, provide support, send important updates, and improve marketplace quality.
For nursery owners, we use information to manage the portal, inventory, orders, services, leads, offers, reports, billing, onboarding, notifications, and store review workflows.
We may also use aggregated or non-identifying data to understand demand, improve product search, monitor errors, prevent misuse, and develop better tools for nurseries and customers.
5. Orders, payments, and transactions
Order details may be shared with the selected nursery so the store can prepare products, contact the customer, manage delivery, or complete the service request.
Payment information may be processed through payment gateways or payment service providers. ThePlantic does not need to store full card details to operate normal checkout flows.
Payment status, order amount, store details, and transaction references may be stored for order history, reconciliation, support, fraud prevention, and legal or accounting requirements.
6. Inquiries, leads, and store communication
When you use Ask Nursery, contact forms, service requests, or similar lead features, your message and basic profile details may be shared with the relevant nursery.
This helps the nursery respond to product availability, bulk purchase, landscaping, garden setup, maintenance, quotation, or general questions.
Nursery owners must use customer lead information only for the request, order, service, or follow-up connected to ThePlantic activity.
7. Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember selected store or location, maintain cart state, improve performance, understand usage, and protect the platform.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies or local storage are disabled.
8. When we share information
We may share information with nursery stores, delivery or service partners, payment gateways, hosting providers, analytics providers, email or SMS providers, customer support tools, and technology vendors who help us operate ThePlantic.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate fraud or misuse, or during business changes such as merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset transfer.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
9. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration.
No website, app, network, or internet transmission is completely secure. Please use a strong password, keep your login private, and contact us if you notice suspicious activity.
10. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide ThePlantic services, maintain accounts, process orders, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, support business records, and improve the platform.
Some information may remain in backups, logs, invoices, transaction records, or compliance records for a reasonable period even after an account is updated or closed.
11. Your choices and rights
You can update many account details from your profile or account area. You can also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or support with your personal information, subject to verification and applicable law.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails when that option is available. Important service messages, order updates, security alerts, or account notices may still be sent when needed.

ThePlantic is intended for users who can responsibly use an online marketplace. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent is required by applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided personal information without proper consent, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
